I hate to say it, but playing Gran Turismo on the Playstation 2 has actually taught me a lot about cars. For example, most people just think of tires as being a requirement to make your car move around, whereas the engine is the most important thing to consider when buying a car.

However, Gran Turismo made me look at it differently. Tires are the only part of a vehicle that interact directly with the environment; they are what actually do the moving of the car. Hence, the tires should be one of the most important things to consider about a car, especially when buying new tires. You can have the fastest engine on the market but if your tires can't keep traction on the road, your engine won't do you any good.

Sure, you can save a little money buying a cheap set but do you really want to put your life and the lives of others at risk just because you didn't want to buy the right tires?

As you said, there are many factors when it comes to buying new tires and some of the factors play directly into how safe your car will be on the road. So do a little research before you buy.
