Good news for all Toyota owners in Malaysia! UMW Toyota (the franchise holders of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia) have made life that much easier now. Apparently they have come-up with a promotion to instill the added safety aspects that can be included into their vehicles. The Vehicle Tracking System is being offered at an attractive price by CSE Automotive Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (CSE) incorporating their VTS ICD 13 (CobraConnex) model.

Currently, they are offering as an added security feature to your Toyota vehicle, the recommendation that you may opt to install a vehicle tracking system to locate and recover your vehicle in the event of a theft or mishap. This security solution integrates GSM cellular technology, global positioning system (GPS) and Internet access which can provide comprehensive monitoring, tracking and the recovery of the stolen vehicle.

Cobra Connex - VTS ICD 13

The state-of-the-art VTS ICD 13 (CobraConnex) vehicle security and monitoring system will be able to alert you the owner, through instant short message service (SMS) if the vehicle exceeds the speed limit and also if somebody tries to brake into your car. In 2006, statistics in Europe showed that on average more than 45,000 cars were installed with CobraConnex vehicle tracking systems, out of which 11,000 were installed in the Commonwealth of Independent States where car thefts were more prone.

The criteria in-order for this promotion to take-effect is as follows :

  1. The offer price of RM2,780 is inclusive of the first year subscription fee and installation charges by CSE. Subsequently, the yearly subscription fee will be at RM350 per annum. Alternatively, you can opt to take the credit card easy payment plan by paying RM990 for the down-payment and the monthly installment of RM90 for 35 months. This package is inclusive of a 3 year subscription fee.
  2. Installation must be done at any of CSE’s authorized dealer.
  3. Payment is to be made directly to any of CSE’s authorized dealer at the time of installation.
  4. It comes with a 3 year warranty on the product and workmanship from CSE as long as there is no after-market accessories fitted to your Toyota vehicle. CSE will make good any defect under the warranty.
  5. This installation will not render null and void the existing warranty terms and conditions to your Toyota vehicle. However, any other after-market accessory fitted in your Toyota vehicle shall render the warranty void and they shall not be held liable for any consequence in the event of any malfunction to the vehicle tracking system, model VTS ICD 13.
  6. The vehicle tracking system model VTS ICD 13 is applicable to vehicles operating and continue to operate in Peninsular Malaysia only.
  7. Other benefits with regards to the vehicle tracking system model VTS ICD 13, will be made known to you by any of CSE’s authorized dealer prior to installation.

Take note that this promotion is only meant for certain models in their range, namely the Hilux Double Cab, Innova and also the Fortuner.

    Don’t do it! It’s a plot by the Illuminati to track you. Big Brother is no longer content to just watch you; he wants to know where you go too. :)

    On a serious note, this is a good idea. You’ve already spent several thousand dollars on a vehicle, why not add a couple hundred more to make sure you can get your investment back if stolen?

    This is definitely a good investment. I had a friend who had his car stolen and thanks to something like this, the car was recovered the very next day.
