Nissan Latio

Nissan Latio - Front

Bad news for all Nissan ‘Sentra’ lovers in Malaysia, as the particular range will be a thing of the past come June 2007. Yes, apparently Nissan in Malaysia will be phasing out their ‘Sentra’ models, but with the exception of their 1.6L manual transmission which will still remain in the market here. All this is in preparation for the launch of their all new Nissan Latio (pronounced LA - SHIO) expected on the 22nd of June, 2007.

Apparently the all new Latio in Malaysia would be their first locally assembled model in it’s class that has features of an all new keyless entry and also an engine start through the Nissan Intelligent Key System. Not only that but the Latio sport version will also be the only hatchback in it’s class. The all new Nissan Latio will be available in both sedan and five door hatchback form. What an improvement for all the Nissan lovers in Malaysia. Read the rest of this entry »

New Toyota Prius

Toyota Prius

As technology moves forward, so does the demand for better quality cars. Currently the latest technology to hit the car world, would be the Hybrid technology. Toyota is definitely not left behind in this field. If there is one car-maker to have this, it would be Toyota.

In Malaysia, sadly we have not got the opportunity to enjoy this sort of mastery on it’s vehicles. But my good judgement says that Toyota in Malaysia “might” bring this in the near future, Toyota Prius, fully equipped with the Hybrid technology. Yes, it is already available in Singapore (SIN $96,000) and could be heading to our shores soon, if the demand here is great for Hybrid engine cars. Read the rest of this entry »

Tyres and Tyre Cleaners

Tyres
I was prompted to discuss this subject after a fellow Gidblogger raised a question on the benefits of a tyre cleaner/protectant. In order to know how it helps, lets find out how the tyres are made first. Ever wondered why the tyres that we use only come in black? Well, here’s why. There are two main degrading agents that attack our tyres and rubber trim. The two degrading agents are UV light waves and ozone.

Both of these two degrading agents attack the long hydrocarbon chains that make up the rubber, and by breaking these bonds it will somewhat shorten the molecules which would result in the loss of elasticity and other possible problems. Read the rest of this entry »

Ford Focus Coupe-Cabriolet

Ford Focus Coupe-Cabriolet
Anyone fancy a Coupe with a drop-top? Check out Ford’s latest newbie. From the exterior, there’s a slight resemblance to the Audi A4 Cabriolet, you be the judge. Ford unveiled this Focus Coupe-Cabriolet at the Melbourne International Motor Show, revealing a high-profile addition to Ford’s range of small cars later this year.

“The elegant new Ford Coupe-Cabriolet will focus Focus to a new group of customers, specifically, those who desire a sexy, smooth drop-top tourer,” said Ford Australia President Tom Gorman. Read the rest of this entry »

Protecting Wheels

Wheels

Feeding your car wheels is easy, just give them a fresh new tyre every 10,000 to 30,000 miles. The wheel will consume the tyre tread over a period of time dependent upon it’s hunger level. If you drive the car rather enthusiastically, the wheel will get very hungry and eat the tread very quickly, If your driving habits are more conservative, then your wheels will have less of an appetite and only pick at the tyre.

One of the questions most often asked is “What do I use to clean my wheels?” The correct answer is use the least aggresive cleaning method possible. If you keep up with the accumulation of brake dust, a simple car wash solution may be enough. If you allow the brake dust to build up, then you will have to resort to stronger cleaning agents. New Toyota Vios

New Toyota Vios

It’s no big secret if you ask me, the whole world knows that Toyota has launched their latest third generation Vios in most parts of the world - eg. Singapore and Thailand. But in Malaysia sadly, it has yet to arrive.

For the benefit of all our Malaysian readers, here’s a sneak preview. Starting with the specifications for this new Toyota vehicle, I would say that it’s a much, much better looking car. The all-new Vios is based on the Yaris hatchback’s platform, but has a 90mm longer wheelbase. It’s also 50mm up on the current Vios’ wheelbase. Read the rest of this entry »

Toyota - May Promotions

When deciding on a purchase for a new vehicle, many questions are on your mind. Apart from deciding on the make and model, the most important question that comes to mind, would be the price. Finding out the current promotions available at that particular period would help you decide better.

To help you do just that, I’ve decided to make this information available to you through my blog. Promotions usually vary within the automobile industry and I believe this would be the same scenario around the world. Some companies here have promotions on a monthly basis, as tougher competitions are more present.

Toyota, is one such company that is aggressive in generating promotions, enabling them to keep the number one spot, in sales volume. Currently in Malaysia, Toyota is having a promotion which is valid from the 1st of May - 30th of May, 2007.

This is the breakdown of that promotion : Read the rest of this entry »

Prevent Car Thefts

How many of you out there have had an experience of their vehicles being stolen? A large number I guess, and trust me, you do not want this happening to you. During my history of working in the sales of motor vehicles, I’ve encountered many cases amongst my customer’s, who had their vehicles stolen.

This scenario can swing two ways; One, maybe I will get a repeat order from that client, Two, the client (who is very depressed) would still have to continue contributing to his loan for the next six months before he gets his claim from the Insurer’s and this is always the saddest part. Imagine you not having a car, but you still have to pay for that car loan.

Anyway, this is a worldwide crime that affects car owners and it is also one of the reasons why insurance rates go up. From my observations, you’re probably better off trying this : Read the rest of this entry »
